About Me

Hi, I’m Tess. I live in the Northern Rivers rainforest of Australia with my partner Sam and our son, Tulsi. We moved here from the city in 2021 because we wanted a life that felt more connected—to our food, to the earth, and to each other. Our home is a tiny space, but it’s surrounded by lush forest and a gentle creek that reminds us every day why we chose this path.

I’ve been vegan since I was seventeen, and over the years, I’ve come to see how a plant-based lifestyle ties in with caring for animals, the planet, and my own well-being. I’m a firm believer in doing what we can—whether it’s growing our own vegetables (we’re still learning!), minimising waste, or just slowing down enough to notice what truly matters.

These days, most of my time is spent raising Tulsi and nurturing our family life. We homeschool, grow our little food forest, and aim for a rhythm that feels calm and intentional. I’ve had training in teaching, linguistics, and nutrition, but my real passion right now is making our everyday routine as cozy, simple, and fulfilling as possible—whether that’s prepping a quick vegan meal, spending a quiet morning reading together, or heading down to the creek for a swim.

By sharing snippets of our life here, I hope to connect with people who value a slower pace, a smaller footprint, and a big dose of everyday joy. Sometimes it’s messy and far from picture-perfect, but it’s honest—and maybe that’s what makes it worthwhile. If you’re on a similar journey or just curious, I’m happy you’re here. I hope our story reminds you that it’s okay to go at your own pace, follow your heart, and find beauty in the simple moments.

Warmly,
Tess
